Chest Pain is always an alarming symptom to suffer. Often, the cause is not cardiac.
When chest pain or tightness is caused by exertion and relieved by rest, then you may have ‘angina’.
Chest Pain is assessed with an Electrocardiogram, Treadmill Exercise Test and, if necessary by CT Coronary Angiography.
If your chest Pain is caused by ‘angina’ (a chest pain caused by narrowed coronary arteries), then you will have a Coronary Angiogram, to establish how severely the vessels are narrowed), and might go on to have a Coronary Angioplasty/Stent procedure (Balloon Dilatation of the narrowings).
